Have a Reluctant Reader?

Take turns reading with your child and find a book that interests your child.

My son always chooses books that are under his reading level. I was determined to get him to read a proper book for his age level and what I did was got to the library and borrowed two of the Hatchet books. We read each night a chapter out of the book so it was not overwhelming. I read a page and he read two. Having two books were great because I was not intimidating him by looking over his shoulder all the time and I could make sure he was actually paying attention and following along. My son now asks me all the time to go to the library and get two of the same books so we can read together. His reading level and comprehension has improved and his teacher is really impressed with his progress.
